Our Origins
New Crossing Capital takes its name from the Cuban and Vietnamese family histories behind the firm.
“New Crossing” brings those journeys together. For our families, the Freedom Tower and Guam stand for the chance to rebuild, the importance of those who help along the way, and the work of creating something lasting. The name honors that history and connects it to the firm’s home in Miami.
Freedom Tower, Miami
One family came to the United States from Cuba through Miami’s Freedom Tower. As the Cuban Refugee Center from 1962 to 1974, the tower helped arriving families find medical care, housing, and support as they began again. It remains a landmark of that experience and of the generations who helped shape Miami.

Guam, 1975
The other family left Vietnam and passed through Guam in 1975. During Operation New Life, temporary reception camps, including sites on U.S. military installations, housed Vietnamese refugees awaiting resettlement on the U.S. mainland. Guam marked a stopping point between the home they had left and a future still taking shape.
